Fish Slide

Yes, you read that correctly. I said fish slide. No, this isn't some kind of new ride at the amusement park, nor the zoo, nor is it another name for dinner as it hits the trash can. This is an actual game. The boys invented it. Of course. Several summers ago, my mom gave the boys these giant (to them) stuffed fish. They love these fish. Perhaps it reminds them of, well, fishing? Anyway, we have done many activities with said fish; pillow fights, beating each other up (aka pillow fight), fishing contests, fish riding etc. You get the idea. The newest, and probably funniest is the fish slide.

I'm not entirely sure how the game was invented, but I am entirely sure I don't want to know. I just heard the peals of laughter, the high pitched voices going even higher, and what sounded like bodies being hurled down the steps. I wasn't too concerned as there was so much laughter, but feeling parental, I decided I should probably check it out. As I peaked over the steps I saw Abraham (Of course it had to be Abraham) laying, on his fish, at the top of the stairs. His head was facing "downhill". HE WAS GOING HEAD FIRST DOWN THE STAIRS ON A GIANT STUFFED FISH. It was a proud mommy moment. I have to say, I didn't even think to stop him. I wanted to see what was going to happen. Shame on me. It was absolutely HYSTERICAL! His little body, as he slithered down each step...it was SO funny! James followed him down the steps in a similar fashion. Up they ran, and down they bounced. It when on and on and on. Different positions, different speeds, different tactics. They were having a blast, and I was too. Never mind that the railing was shaking, the floor creaking, and their heads bouncing!

I will never win an award for parenting, but I sure do enjoy listening to my children have a great laugh! I think I laughed so hard a little bit of pee came out.
